Larry H. Miller Nissan Mesa - National Safety Month

The month of June is National Safety Month!
Here at Larry H. Miller Nissan Mesa, we wanted to share some advice on vehicle safety and how we can help!

The key to improving vehicle safety is through tire awareness and maintenance. Here at Larry H. Miller Nissan Mesa, we want to do our part in making sure you are educated in both. We offer videos, specials, and discounts on tire rotations, safety inspections, and tire pressure. The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that approximately 9% of crashes are tire-related in some way.

In order to avoid tire-related crashes, it is important that you check tire pressure, tread depth, rotate tires, adjust, and avoid potholes. RightTurn blog described it perfectly below:

The acronym PART can help you remember to perform your routine tire maintenance. There are 4 major components in PART:
  • P – Pressure
  • A – Alignment
  • R – Rotation
  • T – Tread
Tire Pressure- Here at Larry H. Miller Nissan Mesa, we put together a YouTube video of the low tire pressure warning light and what causes it. You should check your tire pressure regularly.

Tire Alignment- In the month of June, Larry H. Miller Nissan Mesa is offering a Special on a 4 Wheel Alignment. For full details on this special, click HERE

Tire Rotation- We recommend that you rotate your tires every 5,000-8,000 miles.

Tire Tread- TireRack.com describes Tread Depth below:

Tread depth is a vertical measurement between the top of the tread rubber to the bottom of the tire's deepest grooves. In the United States, tread depth is measured in 32nds of an inch. Because it is difficult to accurately measure tread depth with a ruler, tread depth is best measured with a tire tread depth gauge. When tires have neared the end of their life, a U.S. Lincoln penny can also be used to confirm the tire's tread depth. If Lincoln's entire head is visible, the tire is worn to approximately 2/32" and is considered legally worn out in most States.

Here at Larry H. Miller Nissan Mesa, we are offering a Complimentary 27-Point Vehicle Safety Inspection along with a Car Wash with any service visit! We want to make sure that no matter where your vehicle takes you, you are safe! For more information on this special and other current specials, click HERE.

Larry H. Miller Nissan Mesa- Self-Cleaning Car

Most recently in the news, Nissan has been testing out a self-cleaning car! No one likes or wants to wash their car but what if the car didn't have to be washed? That is what Nissan is currently testing out. The way this happens is in the paint they use. The paint repels water, oil, mud, rain, and dirt. In the images below, the left side is a standard, dirty car. The right side is this repelling paint called Ultra-Ever Dry. The manufacturer of the paint and coating is UltraTech International.

The video below shows the process and result of the above car. This was done by Nissan Europe.

The biggest concern here is making sure that the product will hold up in all different types of weather conditions and all different countries. Also, since it is the paint that repels the water, the grille can still get dirty along with the taillights and underneath the car. What do you think about this idea? Would you like to not have to wash your car as often?
