We'll Match Your M.A.D.D Donation This Holiday Season!

We have partnered with Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Arizona to help raise awareness around the organization’s “Tie One On for Safety” campaign, which encourages drivers to tie a red ribbon on their car as a reminder to always designate a non-drinking driver.

“Every 51 minutes, on average, an individual is killed in a drunk driving crash and Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve is the nation’s most dangerous time of the year for car accidents,” said Nick Ray, state director of MADD Arizona. “During this past Thanksgiving weekend alone, DUI task forces in Arizona made 372 DUI arrests.”

Let's reduced these staggering statistics and encourage responsible driving during the holiday season and throughout the year. Starting today through January 1, Larry H. Miller Nissan Mesa will match customers’ donations to the campaign up to $20,000.

“Responsible operation of a vehicle is essential and we’re proud to support MADD in reminding drivers to make smart decisions during the holidays,” said Dean Fitzpatrick, president of LHM Dealerships.

The funds will go directly to MADD Arizona to support the victims and survivors of drunk driving crashes, which occur once every eight minutes nationwide. Red ribbons and “Tie One on For Safety” buttons will be worn by LHM associates and given to customers as a reminder to designate a sober driver before getting together with family and friends this holiday season.

“On behalf of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the victims we serve and the community members to whom we provide educational programs, we thank Larry H. Miller Dealerships for stepping up and supporting our 2014 Tie One On For Safety campaign,” said Ray.  For more information about MADD or the "Tie One On For Safety" campaign, visit www.madd.org/az.

To make a donation at our dealership and receive a red ribbon come to 2025 Riverview Auto Drive in Mesa, Arizona.

Car Seat Changes for LATCH System Limits

We know that you take your safety seriously and we wanted to share some car seat changes that will be impacting families starting in February.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has outline car seat changes regarding the weight-limit on the LATCH system in cars and trucks.

Before this change, weight-limits and car seat guidelines were based on the height and weight of a child passenger. These new limits would set parameters around the LATCH system and the combined weight of the child and the car seat.

This presents some challenges for parents with the actual weight of the car seat, and in the case of infant car seats, the anchor, varying between brands.

The NHTSA is setting the new combined weight limit (car seat + child) for LATCH systems at 65 pounds.

Once they’ve reached that weight, parents will need to move children into a car seat or booster seat that utilizes the seatbelt restraint system in the vehicle.

The last big change to car seat recommendations came in 2011 from the American Academy of Pediatrics when it was recommended that children remain in rear-facing car seats until the age of two, rather than transition to forward-facing seats at one year of age.

For more details on this change, visit the following links:

You can see info specific to Nissan vehicles regarding LATCH positions in the booklet from SafeCar.gov

If you have questions about your LATCH system, please visit any our Service Department for assistance.

Be safe!

Nissan Profile: Pathfinder

As a Nissan dealership in Arizona, our team eats, sleeps, and breathes all things Nissan. We are proud to have a charging station at our dealership for the Nissan Leaf, we get excited about 370Z, and we get really excited about the GT-R.

But today, we’re highlighting a Nissan favorite—the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. Here are a few of the new details that have people buzzing…

You can go 30% farther on a tank of gas thanks to an improved transmission, more aerodynamic styling, and the fact that Nissan dropped 500lbs in vehicle weight on the new Pathfinder.

Room for 7 people, 80 cubic feet of cargo space, with the rugged, high-performance interior that you’ve come to expect from the Pathfinder.

Around View Monitor™ to get a 360-degree, birds-eye view of your surroundings gives you so much more than your average back up camera.

Advanced protection systems that include dual-stage supplemental airbags, along with side-impact airbags that move with you and adjust to your seating position.

The Pathfinder is available as a V6 or as a supercharged hybrid—one of the few hybrid vehicles that offers seating for 7.

The V6 Pathfinder is one of the most fuel-efficient crossovers available…
· MPG Estimates: City 20 MPG, Highway 26 MPG

The Hybrid Pathfinder offers great fuel mileage…
· MPG Estimates: City 25 MPG, Highway 28 MPG

A few of our favorite features…
· Bluetooth connectivity
· Keyless entry and ignition
· 7-inch Touchscreen audio display
· Heated mirrors (nice to have if your road trip takes you outside of Arizona)
· Bose audio speakers
· 360 degree parking camera

Safe travels!

Why The Best Family Vehicle Is A Truck

Truck commercials since the beginning have depicted feats of strength, power, and ability. We flip through any given channel during a football game to catch glimpses of strong guys dropping heavy objects into truck beds. Payloads, all-wheel-drive, and capacity are a few of the many key words that we throw around. But, one thing we constantly forget to mention is that the truck, specifically the Nissan Titan, is one of the best family vehicles out on the market.

Why?

Well, first of all what is family? It is a unit of people who depend on each other. What does a truck allow you to do? It allows you to be there for people. You can help your family move into a new home. You can tow your trailer up to your favorite camping ground to spend quality time together. You can bring home everything you need to put in a new yard and teach your children the importance of work. The list of reasons is almost endless. The thing is; all the reasons come back to what you can do. Not what you can't.

So pile in to the Titan for your next family road trip. You will find out what we already know, that it is comfortable, spacious, and allows your family an experience. Not just a drive.

Need a few more reasons?

The 168° Wide Open rear doors on Titan King Cab make entering or loading the cabin a snap. And with no B-pillar to get in the way – plus a fold-up rear bench seat – your cargo flexibility is as wide open as your doors.
Here, you'll find more of what you buy a Crew Cab for. And that's space in all the right places, with more front and rear leg room than the Chevy Silverado, or Dodge Ram [*]. Because when it comes to space, the Titan Crew Cab is one full-size truck that truly lives up to its name.
 Here are a few more:
