May in Phoenix

May in Phoenix is one of our favorite times of the year in Arizona. It’s just before the intense summer heat, but after the cooler winter air. It’s the perfect time for outdoor adventures, local festivals, and more!

Start the month off with a cultural classic: the Cinco de Mayo Festival. Taking place on Sunday, May 7th, this beloved tradition remembers the Battle of Puebla and includes all of your favorite Mexican food. Live music, traditional dancing, and games make this festival one to write home about.

After you’ve had your fill of the unlimited tacos from the Cinco de Mayo Festival, swing by Schnepf Farms Peach Festival for a sweet time. This Peach Festival includes free hayrides, rides, a pancake breakfast, and — of course — peach picking! Taking place on the weekend of May 12th -14th and 20th-21st, this is guaranteed to be a peachy time for every member of the family.

Sprinkle in a few concerts, like country superstar Chris Stapleton, before heading to the Queen Creek Lemonade Days. After you’ve had your fill of the icy, fresh lemonade, wrap up the month with a stroll through Phoenix Comicon. Featuring beloved guests like Bonnie Wright, Danny Trejo, and Alan Tudyk, your Memorial Day Weekend will be one for the books.

With all of these outstanding events, May will be a busy — but fantastic — month! For more details and activity ideas, visit AZ Central. And, of course, be sure to stop by our service center before you go to ensure that your car is prepped and ready to go.

The Nissan Rogue Dogue: Your Puppy's New Favorite Car

Nissan brought their A-game to the showroom floor of the New York Auto Show this year. However, they had a very specific audience in mind… One that catered towards furry faces, wagging tails, and their doting human counterparts.

The Rogue Dogue Project Vehicle has everything necessary to make your dog as cozy and safe as possible during trips to the park or vet! Autoblog’s David Gluckman tells us that this puppy-friendly concept encourages canine transportation with a dog hammock in the back seat, leash anchors both there and in the cargo area, a dog bed, heating vents, and full quilted padding. But there’s more — the Rogue Dogue has ramps that pull out from the cargo floor to make it easier for your pup to enter and exit the car. You’re also able to rinse off muddy paws with the onboard heated water hose and blow-dryer. The Rogue Dogue includes a food and water bowl station, first aid, and removable divider.

Gluckman and Nissan report that, “83 percent of 400 dog owners surveyed agreed that it's just as important for their dog to be safe and comfortable in their vehicle as human passengers.” The Rogue Dogue embraces safety and comfortable with every stitch of their puppy-approved concept. While it’s not yet on the market, this innovative project vehicle provides the best kind of hope for dog owners everywhere!
